FIBA ASIA Level 1 Basketball Coaching Course concluded in Nepal

Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) with help from Asian Basketball Federation (FIBA ASIA) and National Sports Council (NSC) have organized Asian Basketball Federation (FIBA ASIA) Level 1 Coaching Course from 10 July to 25 July 2012 at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Greg Gurr, FIBA ASIA Development Director, conducted the course. Total of 40 basketball coaches participated in the course.

Introduction to Basketball, The Game and ruled simplified, The Coach, Basic Skills, Team Concepts, Introduction to Sports Science are some of the topics covered in the course. The course was divided in two sessions per day; theory and practical.

The participants of Level 1 course attended the course very excitingly. The participants have gained huge coaching knowledge, which will be beneficial for the development of basketball in Nepal. The course will raise the standard of basketball coaching in Nepal. Nepal is the second country in Asia to hold the FIBA ASIA Level 1 Basketball Coaching Course.

NeBA President & FIBA ASIA Central Board Member Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa and FIBA ASIA Technical Permanent committee member Mr. Narendra Thapa gave aways certificates to the participants.
