Nepal U16 Girls team left for Russia

Nepal U16 Girls team left for Russia to take part in the the 5th Children of Asia International Sports Games to be held at The Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russian Federation. The Games will be held under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee from July 4 to July 16, 2012. The details of the games can be found at

The contingent include 12 Players and Coach Purna Bahadur Neupane. Nepal Girls team is drawn in Group B with Mogolia, Sakha Republic (Russia) and Far Eastern Federal District.

On the farewell program for the team, Nepal Basketball Association president and FIBA ASIA Central Board Member Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa said, “we are sending U 16 girls team to Russia to gain the international experience. It is a part of NeBA plan to send youth teams abroad to participate to prepare them for future FIBA ASIA youth championship”.
