Nepal Basketball Association & Asian Basketball Federation (FIBA ASIA) organized Basketball Management Seminar from 26 – 29 July 2012 at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Greg Gurr of FIBA ASIA conducted the course. Total of 20 basketball administrators from Nepal participated in the 3-day course.

Authority / Administration, Membership, Revenue, Affiliation / Reporting, Communication, Education, Camps /Clinics, Competitions, National Teams and Development are some of the topics that were presented in the course.

NeBA President & FIBA ASIA Central Board Member Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa and FIBA ASIA Technical Permanent committee member Mr. Narendra Thapa gave aways certificates to the participants.

Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) with help from Asian Basketball Federation (FIBA ASIA) and National Sports Council (NSC) have organized Asian Basketball Federation (FIBA ASIA) Level 1 Coaching Course from 10 July to 25 July 2012 at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Greg Gurr, FIBA ASIA Development Director, conducted the course. Total of 40 basketball coaches participated in the course.

Introduction to Basketball, The Game and ruled simplified, The Coach, Basic Skills, Team Concepts, Introduction to Sports Science are some of the topics covered in the course. The course was divided in two sessions per day; theory and practical.

The participants of Level 1 course attended the course very excitingly. The participants have gained huge coaching knowledge, which will be beneficial for the development of basketball in Nepal. The course will raise the standard of basketball coaching in Nepal. Nepal is the second country in Asia to hold the FIBA ASIA Level 1 Basketball Coaching Course.

FIBA ASIA conducted Basketball Management Seminar here at Kathmandu, Nepal. Total 25 basketball Administrators including office bearers of Nepal Basketball Association participated in the seminar which was conducted from 26 – 28 July 2012 @ Himalayan White House College, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Both Men’s and Women’s team of Nepal is drawn in Group B in the upcoming 3×3 World Championship (23 – 26 August 2012, Greece).

Nepal’s Men’s team is drawn in Group “B” along with Czech Republic, Spain, Serbia, Latvia, Slovenia.

Nepal’s Women’s team is drawn in Group “B” along with Hungary, France, Slovakia, Czech Republic & Greece.

FIBA ASIA Basketball Management Seminar for Basketball Administrators is scheduled for 28 July 2012 @ 7 AM @ WhiteHouse College, Basneshwor, Kathmandu.

Dinesh Thapa, Secretary General of Nepal Basketball Association and Mr. Greg Gurr, Director of Development of FIBA ASIA is the resource person of the seminar.
