Hosts India beat Bangladesh 63 – 31 to qualify for the 22nd FIBA ASIA CHAMPIONSHIP for U18 Men from MIDDLE ASIA ZONE while Nepal lost 47 – 64 with Srilanka in the third place play off.

The MID ZONE qualifying round for U18 Men was held at Tyagraj Stadium, New Delhi from 24 – 26 Feb 2012.

Following are the basketball teams set to participate in the upcoming 6th NationalGames in Far western region. The basketball events will start on 27 Feb 2012. Men’s basketball events will be held at Police Academy while Women’s events will be held at Sudur Pacchimanchal Academy in Far western region (Dhangadi).

Much awaited 6th National Games will start  today at Dhandagi (far western region). Basketball events of the 6th National Games will start on 27th February 2012 with 7 Men’s and 4 Women’s team participating.

Despite the first quarter lead of 15 – 6 and 2 point lead at Half Time, Nepal U18 team went down 54 – 78 with Bangladesh at the Tyagraj Stadium New Delhi on the FIBA ASIA MID ZONE Qualifying round of the 22nd FIBA ASIA CHAMPIONSHIP FOR U18 Men.

 

India U18 team beat Nepal U18 team 120 – 41 in the FIBA ASIA MID ZONE qualifying round held at Tyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi.  Despite a heroic show from Ayush Singh in the first quarter of the match; India team was no match for the Nepal Boys.

In another match of the day Bangladesh beat Srilanka 75 – 56.

Nepal will play Bangladesh and Srilanka will play India on 25th Feb 2012.

Nepal U18 boys team is set to face India, Bangladesh & Srilanka in the qualifying round of Middle Asia Zone for U18 Men to be held at New Delhi from 24 – 26 Feb 2012.

Deep Condolence on the sad demise of My good friend & mentor Mr. Harish Sharma. May his soul rest in peace. He has been influential and helpful for the development of basketball in Nepal. It is indeed a irreplaceable loss for particularly South Asian Basketball and MID ZONE Basketball.

He has always influenced me to work hard for Basketball in Nepal and has been always encouraging and even showed me the way to work in Basketball.

Harish Bhai..I will miss you and you will always in my heart.
