Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) & National Sports Council (NSC) bid farewell to the Nepal youth (U18) 3×3 National team is leaving for Italy on 7 September 2011 to take part in the 1st Invitational 3×3 Youth world championship scheduled to be held at Rimini, Bologna, Italy from 9 to 11 September 2011.

The players were selected by the selection committee of Nepal Basketball Association. This is a first time that any Nepalese basketball team is participating in the world championship. Total of 36 countries in boys and 24 countries girls category is taking part in the inaugural 3×3 youth world championship.
36 teams of the boys category is divided in four groups of nine teams each and will play a round robin system. First four teams of each group will qualify for the elimination round while the rest of the teams will play the classification round for places 17 to 36.
Nepal is drawn in group C along with Canada, England, Germany, Japan, Latvia, New Zealand, Romania and Turkey.
NSC member secretary Mr Yubaraj Lama, NeBA Senior VP Narendra Thapa, NeBA Secretary General Dinesh Thapa and other NeBA officials bid farewell to the team in an function organized at NSC.
