Hosts Himalayan International Model School (HIMS) of Kathmandu, Nepal defeated Ekalavya Model Residential School of Sikkim, India 57 – 54 in the final to lift the title of 1st HIMS Invitational Club Level Women’s Basketball Tournament here at Kathmandu, Nepal.

HIMS took the first quarter 21 – 11 while Ekalavya took the second quarter 18 – 6. Going to the half time break it was Ekalavya leading 29 – 27 but after the break HIMS took third and fourth quarter 18 – 14 and 12 – 11 to lift the inaugural title of the HIMS Invitational Club Level Women’s Basketball Tournament.

“Women of the final match” Samikchya Neupane netted game high 18 points for HIMS while Gyanu Gauchan netted 13, Neha Chaudhari netted 11, Preeti Tulachan scored 10 and Maya Syangten netted 5 points for the winners. Nima Bhutia was top scorer for Ekalavya with 10 points.

Nima Bhutia of Ekalavya Model Residential School of Sikkim, India was declared Most Valuable Player of the tournament and received Nepalese Rupees 10000 in cash prize.

First of it’s kind tournament in Nepal, four invited teams; hosts HIMS, Ekalavya (India), Saipal Academy (Nepal) and RIBS All Star (Nepal) took part in the event which was held in the premises of host Hosts Himalayan International Model School (HIMS) at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Winner HIMS took home Cash prize of Nepalese Rupees 100000 while Ekalavya took home Nepalese Rupees 50000 in cash prize.

Hosts Golden Peak High School and Innovative school enter the semifinal of the senior and junior boys category in the ongoing 6th edition Golden Peak inter school Basketball tournament here at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Golden Peak High School entered semifinal by defeating Opal 44-27 with Syrus Karki of the former scoring the highest 14 points in the senior boys’s category. Similarly, in the same category Innovative, Greenland and Valley Public won their respective matches and entered semi final. Innovative thumbed Samakhusi English Boarding School 40 – 24, Valley Public hammered New summit School 49 – 33, Greenland School outplayed Angel heart Academy 66 – 51 to enter the semifinal of the tournament. I

n the Junior boy’s category, Golden Peak, Innovative, Angel Heart and Odessy entered semi final by winning their respective matches. Golden Peak beat AIA 27 – 23 with Pravat Rai’s 16 points, Angel Heart edge past Babylon 28 – 22, Innovative got better of Jagat Mandir School 18 – 4 and While Oddessy outplayed Greenland School 38 – 7.

The semifinals of the both senior and junior boys category are scheduled for be held on 13th June at Golden Peak High School premises at Kathmandu, Nepal.

FINAL

Odyssey (boys) and HHCA (girls) lifted the title of 2nd Abhiyan Inter School Basketball Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Defending Champions Odyssey defeated Golden Peak School 43 – 31 to lift boys title while HHCA defeated Valley Public 33 – 31 to lift the girls title.

MVP

Rakesh Shrestha of Odyssey (Boys) and Bina Tamang of HHCA (Girls) were judged MVP of the tournament.

India are crowned the Champions of South Asia. India will represent SABA in the FIBA ASIA CUP tentatively scheduled for mid-July in Wuhan (China).
